What ingredients are Sofia candles made from?
Sofia candles and wax melts are made from the finest quality ingredients, hand-picked by the founder. At the core of our products is the use of clean-burning soy wax, which is better for you as well as the environment. We use premium fragrance oils in our products. In our candles, we use a cotton wick. We do not use any additives or fixatives in our products.
Are Sofia candles safe to burn?
Sofia candles are completely safe to burn. All candles have been subject to burn tests before being put up for sale. Follow the candle care instructions visible in each product page. You will also receive a handy candle care card with each order that you place.
Is discoloration normal after burning?
Discoloration is most likely due to the content of fragrance oils, and it is a natural phenomenon, Some candles are more susceptible to discoloration than others because of the content of their fragrance oils. At Sofia, we are okay with the risk of potential discoloration as we are unwilling to compromise the clean burn of the candle by adding chemical fixatives and additives. Any discoloration does not affect the burn of the candle in any way.
Should I prepare the candle in any way before I burn it?
Yes! Make sure that you trim the wick of the candle before relighting it. For cotton wick candles, about one-quarter of an inch is a good wick length to maintain. Additionally, please refrain from burning your candle in a windy or drafty place. For further clarity please refer to the candle care tips available at each product page. You will receive a handy candle care card with each order.
Which is the best place to burn my candle?
The best place is wherever you want to. We recommend burning your candle in closed spaces away from wind and drafts of air to get the most out of it.
What are wax melts?
Wax melts are scented pieces of wax. They are used by placing them on a diffuser, which are either ceramic or electric. The heat from the diffuser (either through a tea light or electricity) will melt the wax melts and spread fragrance in your space. Wax melts are convenient if you only have limited time in hand, like 30 min or so.

Do you offer international shipping?
At this time, we do not offer international shipping ourselves. We can work with you to help ship Sofia candles outside India.
CANDLE CARE
How do I fix my candle after it tunneled?
Tunneling is caused when you don't burn the candle to the edge of the jar the first time. Candles have 'memory burn', which means they will continue the same burning pattern the second, third, ... etc. time. To fix this, use a heat gun or a blowdryer to even out the edges and fill the tunnel. Once cooled, your candle will have been fixed.
SUSTAINABILITY & RECYCLING
How do I clean my candle jar?
Set up a double boiler, i.e. take a pan or a wok, fill some water in it and let it come to a boil. Place your candle jar in this hot water to melt the extras inside. You can simply tug on the wick to remove it. You can empty out the melted wax and then wash your jar with soap and warm water.
Do you recycle used candle jars?
Sofia is working on a recycling program. We will keep you posted as soon as we have updates.
